ZubiaLue Goss, 70, of Caruthersville Mo., died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Mo.

Born Dec. 14, 1935, daughter of the late Walter and Zubialue Ward Shuburte, she worked at the Banquet Chicken factory and was of the Baptist faith.

On Oct. 10, 1955, in Micola, Mo., she married Elwood Deaton, who preceded her in death in 1981. She was also preceded in death by one son, Gene Edward Deaton.

Survivors include, four daughters, Judy Marie Lewis and husband, Lonnie, of Lubbock, Texas, Mary Mageline Estes and husband, Tommy, of Hayti, Julie Imogene Miller and Vicky Lynn Wells, all of Hayti; two sons, Ricky Dean Deaton, of Hayti, and Gary Dewayne Deaton and wife, Emily, of Caruthersville; one brother, Ray Shuburte, of Hayti; two sisters, Merlene Sprouse, of Lilbourn, Mo., and Dephia Barnett, of Hayti; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Mon., Nov. 13, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.

Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele, Mo.

Pallbearers were Daniel Davis, Terry McCloud, Terry Wells, Jr., Richard Wells, Jr., Brandon Miller, and Thomas Bates.
