Funeral services for Edwin W. Ferrell, 52, were held Saturday, April 17, at 2:00 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele. Rev. Ray Garinger officiated.
Mr. Ferrell was born September 27, 1929, at Clifton, Tennessee, and died April 15, 1982, at the Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis. Mr. Ferrell was a welder at Caruthersville Shipyards, Inc., until ill health.
The son of the late Kenny Ferrell and Ada Umphreys Ferrell, he was united in marriage to Betty Self at Blytheville August 18, 1953. To this union was born four children.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Betty Ferrell of Steele; Three sons, Don Ferrell of Blue Springs, Missouri, Kenny Ferrell of Steele, and Richard Ferrell of the home; One daughter, Mrs. Polly Wilson of Independence, Missouri ; Five brothers, William, Robert, Hobert, Lawrence and Homer Ferrell, all of Clifton; Four sisters, Mrs. Hattie Harden of Clifton, Mrs. Cora Hood of Caruthersville, Mrs. Bessie Brandon of Savannah, Tennessee, and Mrs. Etta Motes of Savannah; and Five grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Steve Wilson, Edward Finney, Peter Stigman, Homer Hinklin, Adley Hardin, and Jerry Hinklin.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with the John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
