Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at First Baptist Church here for Homer B. Ferrell, 64, who died suddenly March 23, 1965 at his home on Bates Street. The Rev. James F. McCrary officiated, assisted by the Rev. Harold C. Thompson of Blytheville.
Mr. Ferrell had been a barber in Steele for more than 30 years, coming here from Caruthersville,
He was a member of First Baptist Church.
The son of D.W. Ferrell and Mollie Ann Watson, Mr. Ferrell was married to Emma Sue Cannon on January 11, 1931 in Caruthersville.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Emma Sue Ferrell, of Steele; one daughter, Mollie, of the home; and three sisters, Mrs. Lillie Cluck and Mrs. Esther Holland of St. Louis, and Mrs. Beulah Marr of Covington, Tenn.
Pallbearers were J.W. Rinehart, Ralph Ketchum, Harvel Davis, Ralph Wafler, Robert Nicholas, and Clarence Poteet.
Honorary pallbearers were Carl Sheeley, Riley Knight, Charles Kendrick, Mike Riddick, Elwood Dean, Sims Michie, John Holt, Phillip Koury, Harold Cooperman, Herman Via, and Obie Pierce.
Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery with John W. German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 3, 1979, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele for Emma Sue "Tootsie" Ferrell, 66. Rev. James T. McCrary officiated.
Mrs. Ferrell was born June 28, 1912 at Luxora, Ark. and died April 30, 1979 at Memorial Hospital in Osceola, Ark. "Tootsie" was the daughter of the late W.E. Cannon and Sarah Simpson Cannon. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Steele.
She was united in marriage to Homer Ferrell at Caruthersville on January 11, 1931 and to this union was born one daughter. Her husband preceeded her in death March 23, 1965. She was a former resident of Steele where her husband operated a barber shop.
Mrs. Ferrell leaves one daughter, Molly Ann Ferrell of Osceola, Ark.; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Ratcliff of Memphis, Tenn., Mrs. Bessie Hardy of Memphis, and Mrs. Alice Mae Wallace of Austin, Colo.; and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Ben Higgins, Tony Lackey, Billy Lackey, Thomas H. Warren, Don H. Clifton and James Ward.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Molly Ann Ferrell, 48, formerly of Steele, Mo., died Monday, May 6, 1996, at Kings Daughters and Sons Nursing Home in Memphis, Tenn.
She was born May 18, 1947 at Blytheville, Ark., daughter of the late Homer and Emma Sue Cannon Ferrell.
Her parents were former residents of Steele.
Ms. Ferrell had no immediate family, only cousins.
Joanna G. Nowlin a cousin of Collierville, Tenn., and Velma Ward of Osceola, Ark. were her legal guardians.
Graveside services for Ms. Ferrell were held Thursday, May 9, 1996 at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
