Mrs. Annie Lou Willie Deaton, 78, of rural Steele, Mo., died Thursday, December 11, 1997, at Pemiscot Memorial Nursing Home in Hayti, Mo.
Born Thursday, May 8, 1919, at Haleyville, Ala., she was a daughter of the late John Howard and Dollie Annie (Allen) Howard.
One sister, Mary Howard, and three brothers: William Howard, Joe Howard and Walter Howard, also preceded her in death.
On July 2, 1951 in Piggott, Ark. she was united in marriage with John Garland Deaton.
Of the Church of God faith, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Deaton leaves her husband, Garland Deaton, of Steele; two daughters: Linda Pinkard of Steele and Barbara Edwards, of Caruthersville, Mo.; one son, Johnny Deaton, of Steele; two sisters: Millie Reynolds of St. Louis, Mo., and Madie Davis of Patton, Mo.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Deaton were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 1997, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele with Pastor Danny Lacer officiating.
Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele with Bradshaw Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
Pallbearers were Therron Nowlin, Greg Peters, Donald Gray, Sr., Donald Gray, Jr., Eldridge Gray, and Mike Hicks.
