James Edward Shubert, 55, of Steele, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005 in an automobile accident in Steele.
Born June 13, 1950 in Waynesboro, Tenn., he was the son of the late James Harden Shubert and Arlie Ester Martin Shubert. He was also preceded in death by his half-brother, James William Shubert.
James was united in marriage to Cathy Razer on Oct. 23, 1992.
He was a foreman in Carbon and Rodding for Noranda Aluminum.
Mr. Shubert leaves his wife, Cathy Shubert, of Steele; Two sons: Kevin A. Shubert of Florence, Ala., and Jared Shubert of Steele; Two daughters: Jamey Dion Alexander and her husband Dennis of Florence and Amy Trammel and her husband Chris of Steele; Two grandsons: Jacob Trammel and Jayden Trammel, both of Steele and One granddaughter, Rebecca L. Alexander, of Florence.
Funeral services for Mr. Shubert were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005 at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Rev. Dave Lewelling officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Powell Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
Pallbearers were Richard Shuburte, Marty Jackson, Doug Haney, Ed Barnes, Larry Smith and Bruce McCaig.
