Barbara Prestage, 57, of Steele, died Monday, April 26, 2004, at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Born June 2, 1946, in Modesto, Calif., she was the daughter of Cecil Anderson and the late Freddie Mae Benfield. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Pat Shelton.
Barbara was united in marriage to James Prestage on March 1, 1989, in Turlock, Calif. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Holland, Mo.
Mrs. Prestage leaves four sons; Clayton Curry and Terry Curry, both of Steele, William Curry of Texas and Richard Curry of Joplin, Mo.; Two brothers; Willie Benefield and Michael Benfield, both of Bakersfield, Calif.; One sister, Judy Kay Henderson, of Modesto; Two grandchildren; Logan Prestage and Norman Curry; and Two very special friends; Kenneth and Darlene Britt.
Funeral services for Mrs. Prestage were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at the Pentecostal Church of God in Holland with the Rev. Mike Richardson officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
