Funeral services will be today (Thursday) for Fred Albert Swindle, who died Monday, February 17, 1975, at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis at the age of 61.
Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the German-Aumon Funeral Home in Steele with the Rev. James McCrary officiating.
Mr. Swindle was born January 7, 1914 in Dexter.
He leaves his widow, Loyd May Swindle of Steele; three sons, Fred G. Swindle, Mt. Vernon, Ill., and Randall and Rondall Swindle of Steele; two daughters, Barbara Field, St. Louis, and Beckie Landon, Memphis; one brother, Lester Swindle, Union Lake, Mich.; two sisters, Juanita Hunter, California; and Willene Brotherton, Union Lake; and six grandchildren.
Interment will be in Mount Zion Cemetery at Steele with the German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Bynum Hester, Frank Brown, Ollie Wilson, Bo Clark, Clyan Larue and Bigham Howe.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leemon Kinder, Eugene Kellems, Troy Googe, Andy Jenkins, Berry Hester and Joe Clark.
Loyd Mae Swindle, 80, of Steele, passed away January 6, 1996 at the River Oaks Nursing Home in Steele.
Born September 25, 1915 in Denton, Mo., she is the daughter of the late James Dunn and Alpha Woodward Dunn.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Steele.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Albert Swindle.
Survivors include three sons, Rondall Swindle of Caruthersvile, Randell Swindle of Dexter, Mo. and Freddie Swindle of Grandin, Mo.; two daughters, Becky Lee Landon of Hilton Head, S.C. and Barbara Jean Field of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother, Roby Dunn of Caruthersville; four sisters, Freda Scott of Braggadocio, Golda Fowler of Steele, Daphne Ginn of Memphis, Tenn. and Mary Lola Dowdy of Oklahoma; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Jan. 8 at 10 a.m. at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele, the Rev. Funderburk officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
Bradshaw Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of services.
