Obituary
Grace Killen, age 101, of Clarence, MO, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015, at the Clarence Care Center in Clarence.
She was born on March 18, 1913, in Cherry Box, MO, the daughter of Glen and Susan Alma Perry McEwen. She was united in marriage to Wayne Killen in 1937 in La Plata, MO. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1997.
Grace is survived by three children, Tony Killen and wife Joyce of Lentner, MO, Charlotte Nelson and husband Bob of Macon, MO and Jeanette Gress and husband Bob of Macon, MO; nine grandchildren, Mike Killen and wife Brenda, Keith Killen and wife Missy, Kim Heaton and husband Michael, Tonya Brimer and husband Ray, Holly Christian and husband Brett, Kurt Desque and wife Lisa, Dale Kirtley and wife Joanie, Kevin Kirtley and wife Joan, Tony Kirtley and wife Kelly; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Blanche Klocke of Edina, MO and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Jeff Baker; two brothers, Chester and John McEwen and two sisters, Lenna Chinn and Ruth Browning.
Grace was a graduate of Leonard High School and a member of the Leonard Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, playing dominoes, singing and her church. Grace loved her family very much and she cherished the time she spent with them.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on January 7, 2015, at the Leonard Christian Church with burial to follow in the Cherry Box Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Christian Church in Leonard from 9:30 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Clarence Care Center or the Cherry Box Cemetery.
