SHELBY COUNTY HERALD, Shelbyville, Missouri, Wednesday, Apr. 8, 1987
Annie Blanche Simmons, 71 of Leonard, died Friday morning, Apr. 3, 1987 at Columbia Regional Hospital.
The daughter of Roy Chester and Iva May (Crandall) Shofstall, she was born July 10, 1915 in Knox County. On May 24, 1931 in Edina, she was married to Arthur Willis Simmons, who survives.
Also surviving are six sons, Glenn Simmons of La Belle, Bobby Simmons of Newark, Gary Simmons of La Plata, and Ronald Simmons, Larry Simmons and Darrell Simmons, all of Novelty; one daughter, Mrs. Joe Don (Shirley) Stout of Newark; one sister, Mrs. Lucas (Velma) Davis of American Falls, Idaho; 20 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father on June 27, 1954; her mother on Sept. 18, 1967; two sons, Raymond Kent Simmons on Nov. 24, 1956, and Terry Kevin Simmons on Nov. 6, 1982; one daughter, Mary Luella Simmons on July 23, 1960; two brothers, Harold Shofstall and Glenn Shofstall; and one great-granddaughter, Mandy Lynn Simmons on Oct. 25, 1976.
After their marriage, Mr. & Mrs. Simmons moved to the present farm northeast of Leonard where they have since resided.
Mrs. Simmons was a member of the Plevna Christian Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Apr. 5, 1987 at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina. Burial was in the Cherry Box Cemetery, northwest of Leonard.
