Obituary.
Susan Carson Smith was born December 18, 1842, in Randolph County, Missouri. She was married January 6th, 1861 to Peter H. More, who survives to mourn the loss of an affectionate and loving wife. To this union there were born eleven children, eight of whom are living still, six daughters, and two sons.

The greater part of the life of the deceased was lived in Adair County, and near Kirksville. A year and a half ago, she with her husband removed to Kinsley, Kansas hoping that the change of climate would benefit Mrs. More, who was in poor health. In the family home near Kinsley, she passed out of this life to the home beyond, January 6th, 1910, forty-nine years after she and her husband were united in marriage.

The deceased professed faith in Christ and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church soon after she was married, and remained a faithful member and Christian until her death.

Mrs. More was greatly beloved by her friends and neighbors, for kindness of heart and willingness to assist those in need on every opportunity. Her life was filled with good deeds in a quiet unostentatious way, which endeared her to all who knew her.

The funeral was conducted from the home of her daughter, Mrs. F.M. Phipps, Sabbath afternoon, January 9th, by Rev. W.C. Templeton, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. One of the hymns best loved by her "My Heavenly Home is Bright and Fair, I am Going Home to Die no More" was sung, after which the interment was in Forest Park Cemetery. The sorrowing husband and children have the sympathy of a large circle of friends and neighbors in this their hour of sorrow and affliction.
