Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, in the Cabool Church of the Brethern for Fingler Holden, 63, who passed away Saturday night, March 14, at his home. The Rev. Lee Kendall officiated at the services, with burial at the Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott Gentry Funeral home.
Pall bearers were: Herschel Stark, Art McClain, Elmer Watts, Mike Knapp, Bruce Long and Is Altis.
Mr. Holden was a life long resident of the Cabool community and had been ill for the past several years.
He had worked for the Grant-Davis Lumber Co., and later the Grant Lumber Co., as a planer for over 35 years. He also served in the National Guards in 1917.
Mr. Holden is survived by two sister, Mrs. Anna Field of Hutchinson, Kansas and Mrs. Clara Altis of Severy, Kansas, two brothers, Lon Holden of Lacygne, Kansas and Robert of Cabool, with whom he had made his home for 40 years.
The family has suggested that contributions be made to either the heart or cancer funds.
The thank you note in Cabool Enterprise is signed by the Albert Fingler Holden relation. When he registered for WWI draft July 5, 1918 he signed his name as Fingler A. Holden. His physical description was medium height, medium build, brown hair and blue eyes. [info from Carol Boykin]
