Graveside services for Erma Lee Redburn Montgomery, 80, Springfield, Mo., and formerly of West Plains, will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 17, 2010, at the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Montgomery died at 10:35 a.m., Sunday, June 13, 2010 at the Springfield Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, Springfield, Missouri. She was born October 29, 1929 in Howell County, Missouri to James Albert and Emma May Clarke Redburn. She received her education in the schools of Oregon County, Missouri and on September 16, 1948 was married at Salem, Arkansas to Clyde Lester Montgomery who preceded her in death on January 23, 2001. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Montgomery Holland, husband, Gerald, Springfield, Mo.; one son, Larry Lee Montgomery, wife, Dianne, Salt Lake City, Utah; three grandchildren, Jason E. Holland, wife, Lacie, Curtis R. Holland, wife, Krista, both of Springfield, Mo., and Christopher Marcus Stewart Montgomery, Salt Lake City, Utah; one great-grandchild, Nora Holland; two sisters, Irene Trantham, Rover, Mo., and Allena Vonallmen, West Plains; and many nieces and nephews. Her parents; husband; one infant sister; one half-sister, Avie Vincent; one half-brother, Leonard "Bud" Redburn; and three brothers, Fred, Lloyd and Lester Redburn, precede her in death. Mrs. Montgomery was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a Christian and attended the Faith Assembly of God Church for many years. Mrs. Montgomery will lie in state from 4 p.m., Wednesday until noon Thursday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Clyde Montgomery, 71, of West Plains, MO, died Tuesday at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, MO. He was born March 8, 1929 near West Plains, the son of Bert C. and Irene Fite Montgomery.
On September 16, 1948 he was married to Erma Redburn, at Salem AR.
Before his retirement, Mr. Montgomery had been employed for 40 years with International Shoe Company.
He was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, Erma, of the family home; two children, Linda Holland and husband Gerald of Springfield; and Larry Montgomery and wife Dianne of Salt Lake City, UT; three grandchildren; three brothers, Herbert Montgomery and wife Eva of West Plains, MO; Hubert Montgomery and wife Viva, of West Plains, MO; Carl Montgomery and wife Emma of Aiken, SC; three sisters, Ruth Redburn of West Plains, MO; Mabel Judd of West Plains, MO; and Ruby Earls of Thayer, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, George, Claude, and Everett Montgomery.
Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 26, 2001 in the Rose Chapel of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home of West Plains, MO. Burial will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. [West Plains Daily Quill, Jan 2001]
