Guy William Azbill, 85, of Steele, died Sept 7, 1993, at Baptist Central Hospital in Memphis. Born June 7, 1908,he was the son of John Irvin and Lena Mullins Azbill. A member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter, he was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Mary Nell Boston Azbill and three brothers, Amer, John and Joe Azbill.

He is survived by four daughters, Ruth Billings of Houston, Margaret Edwards and Jean Vance, both of St. Louis, and Ann Wright of Jonesboro;
A brother, Hooper Azbill of Steele;
Eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Sept 10 at 11 a.m. at Holly Grove Baptist Church, the Rev. Stephen Williams officiating, with burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Bradshaw's German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele in charge.

Pallbearers were Kenny Thomas, Tim Alexander, Stephen Childers, David and Joe Hardesty and Gabby Bond.

Honorary pallbearers were Mason Laster Jr., Lawrence Little, Pauline Alexander, Charles Barger, Charlie Nance, Darrell Edwards, George and Floyd Wilson, Ray Pugh, Max Johnson, J.W. Neil, Shirley Lovins and W.M. Barnes.

Mary Nell Boston Azbill, a daughter of the late Robert C. and Ethie Gray Boston, was born July 21, 1907 at Tyler, Mo., and died March 8, 1988 at Blytheville, Ark., at the age of 80.

She was a retired school teacher and a member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter, Mo. On December 25, 1936 she was married to Guy William Azbill in Caruthersville, Mo.

She leaves her husband, Guy Azbill of Steele, Mo.; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Billings of Houston, Mrs. Margarett Edwards and Mrs. Jean Vance, both of St. Louis and Mrs. Ann Wright of Jonesboro; and eight grandchildren.

Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Funeral services were Friday, March 11, 1988 at 1:00 p.m. at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter, by the Rev. David Powell and the Rev. Joe Smith.

Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele, with arrangements by German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele.

Active pallbearers were: Mason "Buck" Laster, Marvin Childers, Pauline Alexander, Phil Johnson, Gabby Bond, and Kenny Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were David Hardesty, Donnie Hale, George Wilson, C.B. Nance, O.D. Bond, and W.M. Barnes.
