Berlon Hall Woody died January 14, 1976 at the Holland unit of the Special School District where he was head custodian.
Born October 6, 1925 in Hardin County, Tenn., he was a former Steele police officer.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 17, 1976 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. James F. McCrary officiating.
Woody leaves his widow, Leta Bridges Woody; one daughter, Ella Dean Grissom of Steele; one son, Steven Hall Woody of Lake Villa, Ill.; one step-daughter, Daisy Ryan of Steele; three stepsons: Clarence Taylor, Buttonwillow, Calif.; Kenneth Taylor, St. Louis, and Wayne Taylor, Caruthersville; his mother, Mrs. Jessie Labarreare, Corinth, Miss., two sisters: Thelma Smith and Bonnie Moore, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; one brother, Norman Woody of Indianapolis; and 17 grandchildren.
Interment was in Sam F. Hamra Memorial Gardens at Steele with the German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Hoye Hilhouse, Billy Williams, Clyan Larue, Joe Thompson, Eddie Rinehart, and Leon Davis.
