Double funeral services were conducted December 24, 1976, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Steele for Denver Dodd, 43, and Dorman Monroe, 26, who were killed in a December 22 truck accident near Talladega, Alabama. Rev. James McCrary officiated.

Interment was in Sam Hamra Memorial Gardens in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele with the German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Charles Ferrell, Carroll Lorren, Lamar Hager, Joe Rose, Bobby Pounds, Wendell Hoskins, Ben Chandler, Jerry McClure, Tommy Previtt, Donald Hicks, Tommy Gilbert and Landon Mathis.

Mr. Monroe was born April 6, 1950. He leaves his mother, Mary Monroe Morrow, and his step-father, Lawrence Morrow, both of Steele; five sisters: Carolyn Guy, Gladys Bass, Shirley Monroe, Barbara Ann Monroe and Laura Morrow; and four brothers: Cecil Monroe, Ronald Monroe, Lloyd Monroe and Terry Monroe.
