Mrs. Evelyn Monroe, 75, died March 24, 1972 at the Burien General Hospital in Seattle, Wash.
Mrs. Monroe was born September 16, 1896 in Mississippi. She lived in Steele until recently when she became ill and moved to Washington to be with her sons.
Funeral services were held at the German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday at 3:30 with Judson Woodbridge officiating.
She leaves five sons, M.C. Greer of Corinth, Miss.; Robert Monroe, James Monroe and John Monroe, all of Seattle, Wash.; and Hubert Monroe of Cottage Hills, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Morrow and Mrs. Jewel Peterson of Steele; one sister, Beulah Greer of Corinth, Miss.; and 27 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Paul Cooper, Sandy Johns, David Whitfield, Roy Barnes, Gordon Southern and Paul Fullerton.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery with the German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge.
