James O'Neal Fullerton was born July 10, 1912 in Gibson County, Tennessee and died December 29, 1986 at River Oaks Nursing Home. He was 74, and was a retired farmer. He was a son of the late William Neal Fullerton and Ollie Newman Fullerton.
At. Steele, Missouri, December 26, 1931, he was united in marriage to Verna Hurley, who preceded him in death August 9, 1979.
He leaves the following: two sons - Roy Fullerton of Dittmer, Missouri and Charles Fullerton of Arcadia, Florida; Two daughters - Mrs. Marie Johnson of Nocatee, Florida and Mrs. Gladys Croy of Wauchula, Florida; Three brothers - Ben Fullerton of Memphis, Paul Fullerton of Steele, and Richard Fullerton of Blytheville, Arkansas; Three sisters - Mrs. Edna Hurley of Bernie, Missouri, Mrs. Ruby Hillhouse of Steele, and Mrs. Irene Ray of Caruthersville, Missouri; Sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held January 1, 1987 at 2:00 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Skinner officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Steele, with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Bobby Robinson, James "Sonny" Hillhouse, Bill Ray, Barry Ray, Russ Fullerton, and Johnny Hurley.
