Funeral services for Jim Hood, 92, were held Thursday, May 6, 1982 at 2:00 p.m., at the German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel in Steele. Rev. Charles Faught officiated.

Mr. Hood was born in Haleyville, Alabama, and died May 3, 1982 at the residence of his daughter, Brenda Hunt, of Steele.

He leaves his wife, Pearl Hood, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Purnia Carter of Double Springs, Alabama, Mrs. Louise Johnson of Caruthersville, and Mrs. Brenda Hunt, of Steele; six sons, L.V. Hood of Cordell, Georgia, Travis Hood of Loretta, Tennessee, James Hood of Town Creek, Alabama, Hubert Hood of Haines City, Florida, Bertis Hood of Jasper, Alabama, and Mack Hood of Double Springs; 62 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Tom Hill, Floyd Carter, David Reno, James Welch, Rodney Pitts, and Shawn Howe.

Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Steele with the German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pearl B. Hood, 91, of Steele, died Aug. 22, 1991 at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis. Born May 20, 1901 in Alabama, she was the daughter of William and Liza Cagle Brannon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Hood. She attended the Pentecostal Church of God and was the widow of Jim Hood.

She is survived by six sons, L.V. Hood of Winterhaven, Fla., Travis Hood of Lorretta, Tenn., James Hood of Town Creek, Ala., Hubert and Mack Hood, both of Double Springs, Ala., and Bertis Hood of Jasper, Ala.; two daughters, Louise Johnson of Hayti and Brenda Hunt of Steele; 42 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Services were August. 25 at 1 p.m. at the Bradshaw German-Aumon Funeral Home chapel in Steele, the Rev. Charles Faught officiating, with burial in Mount Zion Cemetery.
