Jim Kellems, a Pemiscot County resident for 60 years died this week at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti.
A retired farmer, Mr. Kellems was born December 5, 1897, in Derby, Indiana, and died November 14, 1977.
Services were conducted Wednesday, November 16 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Steele, with Father Pat Weisman officiating.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Marie Kellems, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Alma Ruth Story, of Pensacola, Fla., and two sons: Eugene Kellems of Steele and Chester Kellems of Greenville, Miss. He leaves six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Clyan LaRue, Bynum Hester, Olan Johnson, Eddie Jarboe, J.W. Rinehart and Seabe Wright.
German-Aumon Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements with burial in Mt. Zion cemetery.

Emma Marie Kellems, the daughter of the late James Lewis and Emma Pullam Higdon, was born July 1, 1895, at Chenault, Kentucky and died April 6, 1985 at the Chickasawba Hospital in Blytheville, Arkansas. She was 89.
She was married to James Francis Kellems, who preceded her in death.
She leaves one daughter, Alma Story of Pensacola, Florida; two sons, Eugene Kellems of Steele, and Chester Kellems of Greenville, Mississippi; one brother, Harry Higdon, of Bell City, Missouri; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Olan Johnson, Chester Barnes, Bynum Hester, David Whitfield, Truman LaRue and Bowen Travis.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, German-Aumon Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
