MYRON MILLER, JEWELER, AGED 80, DIES HERE
Fell and Broke Hip on May 24; Funeral and Burial Today.
Myron A. Miller, 80 years old, Kirksville jeweler for almost his entire adult life, died at his home at 1108 South Franklin Street early yesterday morning.
He had been in a serious condition since May 24, when he fell while walking across a room in his home and broke a hip. It was believed a slight stroke of paralysis caused him to fall.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 at the Davis & Wilson Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Ralph M.G. Smith, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial was made in Llewellyn Cemetery.
Mr. Miller was born Aug. 24, 1954 at Clifton, Wis., a son of Hiram and Mary Dawley Miller. He came to Kirksville when a boy. He and his father helped build the first railway line through here.
Later he became a jeweler and for many years was in business here. He and his son, associated in the jewelry business on South Franklin Street, sold their business to Cook & Gardner a number of years ago. Mr. Miller continued to work at his trade at his home here until recently.
Mr. Miller was married to Sadie Hart and two children were born to them. A daughter and Mrs. Miller preceded him in death several years.
Surviving is one son, Myron Hart Miller, of Kansas City. The son and his wife and three children are here to attend the funeral.
About ten years ago he was married to Mrs. Anna McClintock, who also survives him.
