Helen Virginia Harris, 94, of Mexico, Mo., died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 in Pin Oaks Nursing Home in Mexico.
Born December 12, 1914 in Holland, she is the daughter of the late Pearly May Hayes and Andrew Jackson Lovell.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Luther B. Harris; one sister, Anna Mae Stinnett; and one brother, Denzel Walter Lovell, who died during WWII.
Helen was united in marriage to Vetoe Harris on August 16, 1933. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Harris leaves her son, James E. Harris and his wife, Betty, of Mexico.; one granddaughter, Sharon Helvey and her husband John, of Troy, Mo.; four grandsons: Larry Harris and his wife Stephanie of Imperial, Mo., Nathan Harris and his wife Cheryl of St. Clair, Mo., Joseph Harris and his wife Cathy of Wildwood, Mo., and Duane Harris and his wife Jessica of Warrenton, Mo.; 16 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Mrs. Harris were held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 13 at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele with Rev. Michael Funderburk officiating. Powell Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of services.
