Funeral services for Clifford Sherwood, 62, were held Tuesday, October 6, at the German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel in Steele. Rev. David Hart officiated, and Mrs. Betty Aumon was organist.
Mr. Sherwood was born September 19, 1919, in Pemiscot County and died October 4, 1981, at the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti.
He leaves his wife, Elsie Sherwood of the home; Three daughters, Donna Tressler of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Judy Scott of Caruthersville; and Diane Fultz of Washington Courthouse, Ohio; One son, Charles Sherwood of Memphis; His mother, Mrs. Elvie Sherwood of Morrilton, Arkansas; Two brothers, Norman Sherwood of Bastrop, Louisiana, and Gene Sherwood of Morrilton; Eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Howard Burns, Jessie Edwards, Homer Craft, Ronnie Yarbrough, Doug Wimberley and Troma Jones.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with the German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Elsie Louise Sherwood, 81, died October 16, 1997 at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo. Born October 13, 1916 in Holland, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Earnest Phipps and Narcie Henderson Phipps.
She was a homemaker and married to Clifford Sherwood who passed away.
Survivors include: one son, Charles Sherwood of Olive Branch, Ms.; three daughters, Donna Jacobs of Virginia Beach, Va., Judy Scott of Caruthersville, Mo. and Diane Nealey of Cooter, Mo.; three brothers, Earl Phipps of Homeland, Ca., Earnest Phipps of Richmond, Va. and William Ronald Phipps of Glasgow, Ky.; five sisters, Luzena Webb of Wi., Helen Hillard of Lexington, Tn., Wanda Blankenship of Lexington, Tn., Reba Phipps and Dorothy White both of Glasglow, Ky.; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Services were held october 18, 1997 at 2 p.m. at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele, Mo. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Bradshaw Funeral Home was in charge of services.
