James "Nig" G. Beaird, 70, of Steele, Mo., died of natural causes Sunday, November 19, 1995, at Baptist East Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.
Son of the late Jim and Lujennie Heath Beaird, he was born Sunday, December 28, 1924 at Senath, Mo.
Four brothers also preceded him in death.
Mr. Beaird was united in marriage with Bethel Christine Cole on November 30, 1942, in Caruthersville, Mo.
Affiliated with the Vicksburg (Missouri) Church of God, he was a retired farm worker.
Mr. Beaird leaves his wife, Bethel Christine Beaird, of Hayti, Mo.; two daughters: Katherine Smith of Hayti and Shirley Turner of Southaven, Miss.; one son, James C. Beaird, of Aurora, Ill.; two brothers: Floyd Arnold of St. Louis, Mo., and L.V. Arnold of Yorkville, Tenn.; three sisters: Opal Nobel of Kensett, Ark., Helen Bryan of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Imogene Arnold of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren..
Funeral services for Mr. Beaird were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, 1995, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele, with Rev. Glynn Davis officiating.
Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery near Steele with Bradshaw Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
Pallbearers were Johnny Hurley, Greg Turner, Chris Maclin, Jimmy Melton, Tim Beaird, and Bill Arnold.

Bethel was born on May 10, 1924 and passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2009.
Bethel was a resident of Hayti, Missouri.
