Funeral services were held Tuesday in the United Methodist Church in Hayti for Walter Thomas Storey, Sr., 72, who died January 8, 1978 at Pemiscot County Medical Center in Hayti. The Rev. Don Enright of Hayti officiated.

The son of the late Will and May Storey, he was born April 18, 1905 in Caruthersville. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hayti.

Mr. Storey lived in Steele until September, 1976, when he moved to Hayti. He retired from his job with the Missouri State Highway Department in 1971.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Walter Storey of Hayti; a son, Walter Storey, Jr. of Memphis, a daughter, Mrs. Betty Lou Anderson of Hayti; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were J.J. Horton, Billy Williams, Julian Sanders, Jim Warren, James Reynolds and Bud Davis.

Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery near Steele with the John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 17, 1985 at 2:00 p.m. for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Storey of Hayti. Services were in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Rev. Virgil Bunch officiating.

She was born November 19, 1911 in Sikeston, and died May 15, 1985 in Hayti. She was 73.

A member of the United Methodist Church in Hayti, she was the daughter of the late Frank Peters and Lizzie Fowler. She was united in marriage to Walter T. Storey October 6, 1926 at Blytheville and to that union were born two children. She was preceded in death by Mr. Storey.

Mr. Storey leaves a daughter, Mrs. Betty Anderson of Hayti; a son, Walter Storey, Jr. of Memphis, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Petty of Osceola, Ark.

Pallbearers were Alvin Ray Peters, Kenneth Peters, Bill Cockrell, Norris Adamson, Evert Adamson, and Mike Alsup.

Burial was in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele with the John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti in charge.
