Funeral services were held Saturday, August 11, 1979, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele for Mrs. Verna G. Fullerton. Rev. Frank Payne and Rev. A.C. Gardner officiated.
Mrs. Fullerton was born October 7, 1912 in Hardy County, Tennessee and died August 9, 1979 at the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti at the age of 66. The daughter of the late Richard Hurley and Minnie Krech Hurley, she was united in marriage to Neal Fullerton in Steele on November 26, 1931.
She leaves her husband, Neal Fullerton of Caruthersville; Three sons, James Fullerton of Caruthersville, Roy Fullerton of Woodson Terrace, Mo., and Charles Fullerton of Arcadia, Fla.; Two daughters, Mrs. Marie Johnson of Nocatee, Fla. and Mrs. Gladys Croy of Wauchula, Fla; One brother, John (Bud) Hurley of Steele; Two sisters, Mrs. Kate Prince of Bernie, Mo. and Mrs. Lucille Martin of Steele; Sixteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Barry Ray, Billy Ray, Glenn Hurley, Gerald Hurley, Johnny Hurley and Carroll Loren.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery with the John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.
