Mrs. Abraham McGuire died at her home in Kirksville, Mo., Monday of last week aged 86 years. Before her marriage she was Miss Emily Shanholtzer, a sister of our townsman, B. J. Shanholtzer, and was born in this county, March 7, 1833. She was married in 1857, one daughter was born of this union and she died in 1900 leaving one daughter. Mrs. McGuire had been in ill health for several months. One other brother Jacob Shanholtzer, of Brush, Colo., her granddaughter, who lived with her, and a number of nephews and nieces also survive. Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church, of which Mrs. McGuire had long been a member, Wednesday, and the burial was in the cemetery in Kirksville. She was possessed of considerable wealth.
