DIED.

At the family home in our city, Feb 21st, Mrs. Emma F. Shaw, daughter of Gideon and Lida E. Amick, aged 30 years 10 months and 24 days. She was born in Nemaha Co., Neb., whence the family moved to this county when Emma was eleven years old. She was sweetly disposed from early childhood. On the 20th day of March, 1881, she was united in marriage with Mr. George Shaw, Jr., and they were blessed with three interesting children. Her health had been failing for several years which she recognized with Christian resignation. Sister Shaw was a noble woman, a kind neighbor, a faithful, painstaking and loving wife and mother. She had been a Christian from measurably early life, and for many years a consistent and beloved member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church.

Her funeral was conducted by her pastor on the 23d, attended by a number of relatives, neighbors and Christian friends, who deeply feel the loss they have sustained by her death, and as well deeply sympathize with her little motherless children and their sorely bereaved father.

Among her last words were, "God take me," lovingly asking her husband to meet her in heaven.

"Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord."
