MR. S. A. D. MURPHY DIES AT HIS HOME
Mrs. S. A. D. Murphy, better known as "Doug" and also a former student of K.S.T.C., died at his home at 511 S. Elson St. on the evening of March 3rd following the fourth stroke of apoplexy. He was 65 years old.
Mr. Murphy was born in Kirksville June 9, 1864, and spent his entire life here. He graduated from the Kirksville State Teachers College a number of years ago. He had been in the real estate and insurance business for many years, and was at one time candidate for sheriff of Adair County, but was defeated. He was also City Clerk here several years ago.
