C.O. HIBBETS, 81 YEARS OLD, IS DEAD HERE

In Failing Health Since Fracturing Hip in 1961

Charles Osborn ("Odd") Hibbets, 81, of Kirksville, died Sunday night at 10:35 in a Kirksville hospital where he had been a patient one day. He had been in failing health since he fractured a hip on Easter Sunday, 1961.

Born in Kirksville on Nov. 26, 1882, he was the son of Charles W. and Senny M. (Hall) Hibbets. In 1927 in Kirksville he married Elizabeth Burgess Williams who preceded him in death in 1955. Also preceding him in death were two brothers and one sister.

Surviving are four step-daughters, Bessie Fortney of 701 N. Luther, Mrs. J.M. (Nellie) Horton of 1004 N. Olive, Mrs. Wendell (Opal) Charles of 1203 N. Osteopathy and Mrs. Johnny (Helen) Brown of 406 N. Franklin and two step-sons, W.M. Williams of Peoria, Ill., and Orville Williams of 1415 N. Green.

Mr. Hibbets worked for the city of Kirksville for several years.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock in the Foster Memorial Home with C.E. Davis, pastor of the South Side Baptist church of Kirksville, officiating. Burial will be in Forest cemetery.

Bearers will be: Earl Bennett, Eugene Horton, Johnny Brown, J.M. Horton, Wendell Charles and Johnny Williams.
