HANNlBAL: Jane Keithley Parham, 96, of New London, passed away at 5:08 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at the Frankford Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Dr. Stephen Adkison, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Frankford.

Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013 at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel in Hannibal. Mrs. Parham was born in Frankford on September 27, 1916, the daughter of Edward Austin and Lula Fletcher Keithley.

She is survived by a daughter, Anne Parham Hizar and husband, Tom of St. Louis; a daughter-in-law, Merrilyn Roller Parham, of Hannibal; four grandchildren, T. William Hizar and wife Susan, of St. Louis, Kathryn Hizar Johnson and husband Brad, of Wake Forest, N.C., Austin Read Parham of Arlington, VA and Robert Spencer Parham of Columbia and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, of 73 years, Herbert S. Parham, a son Herbert Austin Parham and a brother, Edward Austin Keithley, Jr.

Mrs. Parham graduated from Christian College (now Columbia College) in Columbia and the University of Missouri at Columbia. She was a member of Alpha Pi Sorority.

Jane and her husband lived in St. Louis until 1977 where she was active in the Kirkwood Presbyterian Church and the Meals-On-Wheels program. After moving to New London she joined the Hannibal Woman's Club, G.F.W.C. and the Jane Clemens Neighbors and volunteered for the Mark Twain Museum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hannibal First Presbyterian Church, Mark Twain Home Foundation Endowment Fund or Frankford Presbyterian Church in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Robert Parham, Read Parham, Tom Hizar, Bill Hizar, Kathryn Johnson and Judy Colliver. Honorary Pallbearers will be George Richard Birkhead, Mike Kurz, David Briscoe, Jerry Briscoe, Phillip Briscoe, Gary Fesler, Larry Nieders, Henry Sweets, Bradley Johnson and Mike McKay.
