Elsie R. Walker, 89, of Branson was born in Hamburg, Ark., on Nov. 5, 1918, and died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at the age of 89.

Elsie and her husband lived in the Southeast Missouri communities of Vinson and Dexter until 1971 when they moved to Branson. She was a member of the Notch Community Church and served as teacher, singer and greeter for 34 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Walker; parents, Lydia and William Vieth; sister, Ethel; and two brothers, Lawrence and Adrian.

Survivors include two sons, Michael of Branson and Terrill of Germany; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Willie Earl Vieth of Bernie and Floyd Vieth of Paducah, Ky.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at Whelchel Funeral Chapel in Branson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Whelchel Funeral Chapel in Branson.

Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established at her request at Notch Community Church, Branson West.
