MRS. ANNA M. WAGGONER DIES AT QUEEN CITY

Services at Lancaster Saturday; Burial In Kirksville

Mrs. Anna Margaret Waggoner, 47, died suddenly early yesterday morning, at the home of her sister Mrs. Forrest Wilson, at Queen City.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Lancaster Methodist church with the Rev. Roger Davis officiating. Burial will be at the Llewellyn cemetery in Kirksville. The body is at the family home. Arrangements are by the Morehead and Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster.

Born on February 1, 1909, in Kirksville, Mrs. Waggoner was the daughter of Benjamin and Annie Austin Shelton. On April 25, 1935, she was married to Albert Waggoner, and to this marriage four children were born.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Shelton.

Surviving are her husband and four daughters, Alice Waggoner, a nurse at Kirksville Osteopathic Hospital, Ann, Jane and Kathy of the home; and her sister, Mrs. Forrest Wilson, Queen City.

The family's farm home is north of Lancaster.

Albert Franklin Waggoner, 84, formerly of Kirksville, passed away Tuesday (June 14, 1988) in Loveland, Colorado.

Born July 28, 1903 in Adair county, he was the son of John and Alice Morton Waggoner. On April 25, 1935 in Kirksville, he married Anna Margaret Shelton who preceded him in death in 1956.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Byron (Anne) Rudolph of Loveland, Colorado, Mrs. Vern (Alice) Lehl of Littleton, Colorado, Mrs. Byron (Jane) Brooks of Loveland, Colorado and Mrs. Gary (Kathy) Hurley of Ottumwa, Iowa; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Waggoner was reared in Adair county where he received his education. He was engaged in farming in the Kirksville and Lancaster areas most of his life. Following his retirement from farming, he was employed with the Cowgill Ranch in Milan for several years. In 1986 he moved to Loveland, Colorado to make his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Tuesday morning (June 21, 1988) in the chapel of the Fohn Funeral Home. The Rev. Terry Hunsaker, pastor of the Hamilton Street Baptist Church, will conduct the services. Music will be provided by Dianthe Cable, organist, and Mary Weerts, soloist. Selections will be, "Precious Memories," "Sweet By and By" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Burial will be in the Llewellyn cemetery.

The casket is closed and will remain closed.

Casket bearers will be: Douglas Hamilton, Darrell Hamilton, Todd Hurley, Kermit Sanders, Sam Tarr and Bob Brawner.

Honorary bearers will be: N.L. Ditmars, Ted Sevits, John Filkens, Wendell Sevits, Eldon Hamilton and Earl Sponsler.

Those who wish may make contributions to the Albert Waggoner Memorial Fund. Contributions may be sent to, or left at Fohn Funeral Home.
