Meron Sue (Brown) Harpole, age 77, of Bowling Green passed away November 9, 2014 at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Pastor Dawn Marie Turner officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Frankford. Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Wednesday November 12, 2014 at the funeral home.
Meron was born November 18, 1936 in Frankford the daughter of Glen Childs and Mary Virginia (Cash) Brown. She married Rex Austin Harpole November 24, 1975 in New Hartford. He survives. Other survivors include two sons Klifford Shinn and wife Sue of St. Louis, Rex Harpole II (Shorty) and wife Tonya of Auxvasse; three daughters Karen Toon and husband Tommy of Grapevine, TX, Kim Coultas and husband Steve of Pittsfield, IL, Keela Dark and husband Donnie of Baylis, IL; and one daughter-in-law Bonnie Shinn of Bowling Green; twenty grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four children Kenny Shinn, Kevin Shinn, Karla Shinn and Timmy Harpole; sister Velma Mae Allen; and brother Glen Cash Brown.
Meron was born and grew up in Frankford and lived most of her life in the Pittsfield, IL and Bowling Green area. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Bowling Green. Meron worked at various jobs in the Twin Pike area, but mostly worked as a homemaker raising her family. She enjoyed cooking for people, attending grandkids ballgames, boating, and watching and cheering on the Cardinals.
