MRS. BESSIE I. STONGER DIES IN WISCONSIN
Was Kirksville Resident 30 Years; Funeral Monday
Bessie I. Stonger, 69, died yesterday in Tomah, Wis., where she had lived the past four years. She had been a resident of Kirksville for 30 years.
Funeral services will be held at the Dee Riley Funeral Home Monday morning at 10:30 conducted by the Rev. Marvin Fortel, pastor of the First Methodist church. Burial will be in the Forest-Llewellyn cemetery in Kirksville. The body will arrive at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Stonger was born Oct. 5, 1893 at Clinton, Mo. She was married to William M. Stonger in 1910 at Sarcoxie, Mo., and to this marriage six children were born. Mr. Stonger died in 1945.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Rex (Eleanor) Mink, Adams, Wis., and Mrs. Clarence (Gladys) Grim, Corpus Christi, Tex., three sons, Ralph Stonger, Macon, H.G. Stonger, Tomah, Wis., and Conrad Stonger, Rockford, Ill.; one brother, Jewel, Larimore, Wis.; one sister, Mrs. Babe Salmon, of Colorado; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Stonger was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, and two brothers.
She was a member of the First Methodist church of Kirksville and Kirksville Chapter 184, Order of the Eastern Star.
