Edward Laverne (Bucky) Pavlovich, 89, of Overland Park, KS, passed away March 30, 2014, at Kansas City Hospice House.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Rose Ceremony by the Royal Order of Jesters and military honors at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 19, at the Park Lawn Chapel, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, MO.

Interment will be in LaPlata, MO, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Ararat Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund, 5100 Ararat Drive, Kansas City, MO 64129.

Ed was born April 28, 1924, in Marceline, MO, the eldest of two children of Edward and Edith Pearl (Baer) Pavlovich. Along with his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Anna Leota (Naughton) Pavlovich, on January 26, 2010.

Ed served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked as a petroleum engineer for many years, retiring from MAPCO in 1980 and LOOP in 1992. Following his retirement, he worked for Enterprise Rental Cars in Merriam until December, 2013. He was a 60+ year member of the Marceline (MO) Masonic Lodge AF & AM, a life member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Kansas City, and a very active member of Ararat Shrine Temple. At Ararat, Ed volunteered countless hours for the Children's Hospital Committee, was a member of the Greeter Unit, the Order of Quetzalcoatl, and the Royal Order of Jesters.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Terri Pavlovich-Hoover and Lee Hoover; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Lane Pavlovich Hoover; sister, Barbara (Pavlovich) Dotson; sisters-in-law, Katie Miller, her husband Jim, Marie Collum; and brother-in- law Kelly Groseclose; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
