Married Otha Townsend
Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Ann Townsend, 83, were conducted Monday morning at 10 o'clock at the Steele Church of Christ with E. W. Stovall officiating.
Mrs. Townsend passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eva Curtis, after a long illness followed by a recent attack of pneumonia. She came to Missouri in 1916 from Carroll County, Tenn., and has made her home with Mrs. Curtis since 1942.
Survivors include another daughter, Mrs. Emma Howe; five sons, Leonard of Steele, Otha of St. Louis, Bob of Wardell, Clint of Ripley, Tenn., Oscar of Milan, Tenn., also 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Interment was at Mt. Zion Cemetery with German Funeral Home in charge. [The Steele Enterprise, Steele, Missouri, Feb 18, 1949]
