Funeral services for William Perry Burton, age 83, were held Saturday afternoon at the Church of Christ, with Elder Thurmond in charge. Interment was made in the Mt. Zion cemetery, German Undertaking Co. in charge.
Mr. Burton had lived in this community for 32 years and was a highly respected and progressive citizen. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was active in its behalf. After the death of his wife he made his home with his children and during his last illness was at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Chas. Ketchum. He had been in failing health for several months. Death was attributed to influenza.
Mr. Burton is survived by nine children, Harry, Ocie, Lemmie, Bob, Mrs. T.E. Broderick, Mrs. Richard Wall, Mrs. Chas. Ketchum, all of this city, Mrs. A.U. Graham, of Memphis and Odie, of Caruthersville. He also leaves several grandchildren.
