Paul Harmon Mays, 73, died on Sunday, December 27, 1998, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville, Ark. He was born on Thursday, May 7, 1925, the son of the late J.W. Mays and Edna (Rinks) Wallace.
He was of the Pentecostal faith and a retired farmer. He was united in marriage to Shirley Mays.
Survivors include the following: his wife, Shirley Mays of Steele; three daughters, Margie Biggs of Marshall, Ark., Elizabeth Weed of Rockford, Ill. and Mary Allison of Steele; three brothers, Edward Mays of Rutherford, Tenn., Leon Mays of Newbern, Tenn. and Danny Mays of Kenton, Tenn.; two sisters, Cleo Whitley of Kenton, Tenn. and Evelyn Butler of Newbern, Tenn.; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Services were held at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele on Tuesday, December 29, 1998 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Larry Rouse officiating. Interment was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
