Robert (Bob) Capehart Mays, 83, of Steele, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012 in Blytheville, Ark.
Born Feb. 12, 1928 in Holland, he is the son of the late Noble and Hattie Capehart.
Bob was united in marriage to his wife Geneva Crabb in California on Jan. 10, 1955.
He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korea War and received the Korean Medal.
For many years after his service duty he owned and operated a security guard service in Blytheville.
Mr. Mays leave his wife, Geneva Mays, of the home; One daughter, Debbie Howard; Four sons: Bobby Mays and wife Ellen, Gary Mays Tanner, Michael Mays Waddell and Allen May Waddell; Ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; and A host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Mr. Mays were held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 15, at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Rev. Michael Funderburk officiating.
John W. German Funeral Home of Steele were in charge of services.

Mrs. Geneva Adella Mays, 88, of Steele, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at River Oaks Care Center in Steele. "Ginny" was born January 17, 1926 in Hot Springs, Ark., to Ira and Blanche Waford Crabb. She was united in marriage to Robert Franklin "Bob" Mays in California in 1955. She worked in the healthcare industry as a licensed psychiatric technician nurse.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Bob Mays.

She leaves behind one daughter, Debbie Mays Howard, of Steele; three sons, Gary Tanner of Blytheville, Ark., Bobby Joe Mays and his wife, Ellen, of Gosnell, Ark., and Michael Mays Waddell of Long Beach, Calif.; five granddaughters: Ryan, Natalie, April, Abra and Kelli; five grandsons: Marcus, Matt, B.J., Harley and Zephyr; 11 great-granddaughters and eight great-grandsons; a very special friend, Melissa Pritchard; and a host of friends and other relatives.

She will be missed by many but never forgotten.

Services were conducted Friday, June 6, 2014 at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele, with Pastor Michael Funderburk officiating. Interment was in Mount Zion Cemetery near Steele with Harley Tanner, Matt Howard, Marcus Howard, Ryan Willard, Austyn Goodman, Abra Tanner and B.J. Mays serving as pallbearers.

John W. German Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
