HOLLOWAY, Dr. Lawrence Milton, Sr. - Age 86, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, January 14, 2000 at McLaren Regional Medical Center.

Private funeral services will be held. Interment in Maple Hill Cemetery, Kirksville, MO. Visitation will be held 6-9PM Sunday and 2-4 and 6-8PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Shriners Children's Hospital.

Dr. Holloway was born September 8, 1913 in Kirksville, MO, the son of Edward and Vetta (Elmore) Holloway.

He married Roena Jane Williams on December 24, 1935 in Missouri.

He was a physician, surgeon, educator; graduated Kirksville Business College, 1933; N.E. Mo. State Tchrs. College, Kirksville, 1933-1936; Kirksville College of Osteopathy and Surg., 1940; University St. Thomas, Manilla, Philippines, 1951; Intern, ASO Hospital, Kirksville, 1939-1940; Fellowship in Surg., Detroit Osteopathic Hospital, MI, 1940-1942; Postgrad. Study, Kansas City College of Osteopathy and Surg., College of Osteopathic Physns. and Surgs., McGill University, University of California at Berkeley, University of Michigan, University of Rio de Janeiro, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, University of Moscow, University of Dublin. He was appointed Instructor in Physiol. Chem., KCOS, 1935-1940; Physn., Byron H.S., MI, 1940-1954; Deleg. from N.E. Some of his hobbies were traveling and leading tours to medical conventions, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, antique cars and photography. Surviving are: wife, Roena; daughter, Lynette Holloway of Lansing; son, Dr. Lawrence M. Holloway, Jr. of Flint Twp.; 6 grandchildren, Tiffany, Marque, Tiara, Topaz, Lawrence III, Lexington; sister, Mary Canfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Rex, Herschel and Eugene.
