John T. Stewart, 61, of Kirksville died Saturday, March 17, 2012 at his home.
He was born on December 9, 1950 in Kirksville, the son of Andrew and Eliza Jean(Beall)Stewart. On June 1, 1974, in Kirksville, he was married to Pam Banning.
He is survived by his mother, Eliza Jean Stewart of Kirksville; two daughters, Donna Ranae Stewart of Kirksville and Marla Kehrberg of Eldon, IA; three brothers, Terry Stewart and wife Marsha, Randy Stewart, and Danny Stewart and wife Denise all of Kirksville; four sisters, Andrea VanDyke and husband Butch, Donna Steele, Prissy Coy and husband Dave all of Kirksville and Mickey
Watts and husband Donnie of Milan; three grandchildren, Ryleigh, Kyleigh, and Alyssa; special friend, Pam Stewart; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, daughter, Bonnie Jean, sister-in-law, Mickey Stewart, brother-in-law Ricky Steele, and niece Teresa Lynn Stewart.
John received his education in the Kirksville Public Schools. Following his education, he entered the United States Army. After his military service he worked at the Shoe Factory and the Kirksville Fire Department until his health forced him to retire. He enjoyed softball, fishing, playing cards, and especially his family. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge.
Funeral service will be held Friday, March 23, 2012 at 11 am at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeraal Home with Virgil K. Jones officiating. Burial with Military Rites will be at Maple Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm.
