...Janie Pauline Mikel, 74, of 1216 East Harrison, passed away unexpectdly Wednesday (March 19, 1986) at the home of her daughter in the state of California.
...Born March 19, 1912, in Adair County, she was the daughter of Elmer and Matilda Bradley Hall. On December 24, 1930, she was married to Gail Mikel who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Gary Don Mikel; one great-grandson, Shawn Levings; two sisters, Mrs. Leo (Florence) Mock and Mrs. John (Eunie) Daniels and two brothers George Hays and Frank Hays.
...Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Leo (Donna) Emmert and Sherry Mikel, both of Paris, Missouri; Mrs. Larry (Twila) Allred of Exter, California; Mrs. Gene (Gaylene) Turner of Denver, Colorado and Marla Lloyd of Kirksville; three sons, J.C. Mikel of Paris and Ron Mikel and Terry Mikel, both of Kirksville; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Clarence Hall of Rivera, Arizona; five sisters, Mrs. Pearl (Lula) Bragg and Mrs. Harold (Rhoda) Ogle, both of Kirksville; Mrs. M.E. (Elmerene) Wright of Rivera, Arizona; Mrs. B.H. (Isabelle) Perkins of The Dalles, Oregon and Lillian Haines of Hurdland and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
...Mrs. Mikel was reared in the Yarrow community where she received her education. For ten years, Mrs. Mikel was employed with the Kirskville High School Food Service. Later she was employed with the Northeast Missouri State University Food Service for 15 years before her retirement.
...She was a member of the First Christian Church of Kirksville.
...Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon (March 23, 1986) in the chapel of the Fohn Funeral Home. The Rev. Beryle Cragg will conduct the services. Music will be provided by Dianthe Cable, organist, and Judy Ellis, soloist. Burial will be in Maple Hills Cemetery.
...The casket will be closed at the funeral hour and not reopened.
...Casket bearers will be: Wayne Martin, Leonard Lowry, Vernon Weber, Glenn Dunham, Larry Sykes and Robert Shatzer.
...After noon Saturday (March 22, 1986) friends may call at Fohn Funeral Home.
...The family will receive friends from six to eight o'clock Saturday evening in the funeral chapel.
