Order of the Eastern Star
Mrs. Earl (Dorris L.) Conley, 56, of 301 West Normal, died at 1:30 this morning in a Kirksville hospital. She had been in failing health for the past six months.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock in the funeral chapel of Davis and Davis. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Romans Smith, pastor of the First Christian church of Kirksville and interment will be in the Maple Hills cemetery.
The daughter of H.S. and Elnora Halle Ratherford, she was born December 3, 1899 in Gorin. On December 26, 1929 she was married to Earl Conley in Kirksville.
Surviving are her husband; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Lessly of Kirksville and Miss Rosalie Ratherford of Kirksville and one nephew, R.A. Lessly of Springfield, Illinois.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Conley graduated from the Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in 1929 and taught school thirty-three years in northeast Missouri and for the past fifteen years has taught in the Novinger High School.
She was a member of the Christian church in Memphis, the O.E.S. at Novinger and various teachers organizations including national, state and local.
Bearers will be members of the Novinger school board.
