1898 - 1985
Funeral services for Dale Cody will be held at 2 p.m. Friday July 12, 1985 at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Brashear with the Rev. Beryl Cragg of Kahoka officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Hills Cemetery. Bearers will be Leonard Hughes, Virgil Delaney, Larry Salter, Bob Strickler, Fred Barker and Rex Meline.
Mr. Cody, 87, of Brashear died Tuesday night July 9, 1985 at Kirksville Osteopathic Health Center.
The son of Richard and Josephine (Miller) Cody, he was born April 19, 1898 in Adair County. On February 17, 1921 at Kirksville he married Gladys Ellen Major who preceded him in death on June 13, 1976.
Also preceding him in death were three brothers.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Irene Mitten of Quincy, Illinois and Mrs. Ardis Pedrick of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and several nieces including Mrs. Claud (Helen) Bleything of Belton and several nephews.
Mr. Cody wa a lifelong resident of Adair and Knox Counties and was engaged in farming until he retired.
