Mrs. Hattie Easley Young, age 75 of 1204 E. Harrison St., died Saturday night in a Kirksville hospital after an illness of several days.
Funeral services wil be conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Easley Funeral Home in Brashear with Rev. Romans Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Hills cemetery at Kirksville.
The daughter of George B. and Alice (Spencer) Easley, she was born November 3, 1882 in the New Harmony comunity in Knox County. She was married to William H. Young on December 26, 1903 in Gibbs. He preceded her in death in 1939.
Mrs. Young was united with the LaPlata Christian Church at the age of 17, and became a charter member of the Gibbs Christian hurch. After moving to Kirksville in 1945 she moved her membership to the First Christian Church in Kirksville.
She was postmistress in Gibbs for 25 years resigning because of poor health.
She is survived by two nieces, Mrs. H. Gene (Dorothy) Ridge of LaPlata and Mrs. Juanita Rogers of Decatur, ILlinois. She was preceded in death by one brother, Foster R. Easley and one nephew, Byron Easley.
Pallbearers will be Bert Begole, Charles Taylor, Walter Wagner, Aubrey Elmore, Lloyd Elmore and Albert Coons.
