Forence Eugenia (Tindall) Masten (24) was the second of six children born to Lottie (Rowe) Tindall and Charles William Tindall of Kirksville, MO.
In Kirksville, MO on Feb. 19 1943 she married m. Clarence Ray Masten born Nov. 18, 1922, in Weaubleau, Hickory Co. MO son of Clarence Roy and Vena Josephine Brashears Masten.
Children:
1. Tommy Lynn Masten b. Mar. 17, 1944 m. Paula Jane Rich on Dec. 30, 1967. died. Dec. 4, 1968.
2. Jimmy Joe Masten b. Jan. 9 1946
Florence died instantly in an automobile accident. Her sons, Tommy age 4 and Jimmy age 2 and her sister Clara Mae (Mrs. Walter Hammock)were thrown from the car and escaped with slight injuries.
Florence had been employed by her father, Charles Tindall. driving a Pepsi Cola truck.
The family was moving to Weaubleau, Mo where her husband's parents lived when the accident happened. C. R. Masten was driving a truck containing their furniture and Mrs. Florence Masten was following in the family car. She made a wrong turn and when she realized her mistake she turned around and accidentally struck a gasoline transport truck. The wheels of the transport ran over her.
She was survived by her husband, two sons, her parents, two brothers, Charles, Jr. a student at the U. of Missouri Columbia, and Dale at home; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Margaret) Daugherty of Warrensburg, MO. Mrs. Walter (Clara Mae) Hammock and Miss Dorothy Tindall of Kirksville, MO.
