1909 - 1985
Margaret Lucille Ansei of Kirksville, died at 8:30 Thursday evening (February 7, 1985) in Kirksville Osteopathic Hospital where she had been a patient since January 25. She had been in failing health several years.
Funeral services were held at three o'clock Sunday afternoon (February 10, 1985) in the chapel of Davis-Playle Funeral Home. The Rev. Tom Dolan, pastor of the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, conducted the services. Music was provided by Steve Lyons, singing, "Nearer My God to Thee" and "The Old Rugged Cross." He was accompanied by Julia Mollick, organist. Burial was in Maple Hills Cemetery.
Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of J. C. and Stella Ada Rule Upright. In 1941, she was married to L. P. Anesi, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Chris (Mary Jo) Page of Seattle, Washington; one step-son, Louis J. Anesi of Kirksville; three sisters, Mary Stanton of Kirksville, Mrs. E. J. (Ada) Pickett of Kirksville and Katherine Stockham of Orlando, Fla.; one granddaughter, Mrs. Jeff (Janet) Behrmann of Kirksville; one grandson, Michael L. McClure of Seattle, Washington; one great-grandson, Kyle Douglas Behrmann of Kirksville; five nieces and nephews, including Gary Stanton of Lancaster and Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Findling of Kirksville.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald B. Upright and Louis James Upright and one niece, Margaret Barker.
At an early age, Mrs. Anesi moved with her family from Macon County to a farm south of Edina where she attended Barnhill school. Later they moved to Edina. In 1940, Mrs. Anesi moved to Kirksville.
She attended the Harmony Church.
Bearers were Russell Roberts, C. L. Leeper, Harvey Young, Jr., Robert Anderson, Gary Stanton, Jeff Behrmann, H. R. Starks and Melvin Johnston.
