Funeral services for Benjamin Franklin (Ben) Newberry, 86, West Plains, Missouri, will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at the Curry Street Church of Christ, West Plains, Missouri, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Newberry died at 10:56 p.m., Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Ozarks Medical Center. He was born March 6, 1925, at Leota, Missouri, to John Alfred and Emma Jane Andrews Newberry. On November 2, 1946, he was married at Mountain Home, Arkansas, to Alta Fay Smith. Mr. Newberry was a veteran having served with the United States Army. He was a member of Curry Street Church of Christ where he served as an Elder for many years. He was the son of a preacher, was a loving husband and a wonderful father. He is survived by his wife, Alta Fay Newberry, of the family home; two children, Phyllis K. Hoover, husband, Donel, Dearborn Heights, Michigan and Janet Greene, Overland Park, Kansas; four grandchildren, Darven Watson, wife, Stacey, Misson, Kansas, Amie Farkas, husband, Matt, Ann Arbor, Michigan, Melissa Settle, husband, David, Fountain, Colorado, Christopher Reed, wife, Christi, Blue Springs, Missouri; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tom Newberry, wife, Betty, Odessa, Missouri and Earl Newberry, Denver, Colorado; one sister, Wilma Wolverton, husband, Joe, Grain Valley, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. His parents, one grandchild, Timothy Watson, three brothers and two sisters, precede him in death. The family will receive their friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2011, at Robertson-Drago-Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Veteran's Honor Guard of West Plains and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. [ozarkareanetwork.com, Nov 18, 2011]
Funeral services for Alta Fay Newberry, 94, Overland Park, Kansas, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 13, 2021 in the Rose Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Newberry passed away at 12:22 p.m., Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Rose Estates Assisted Living, Overland Park, Kansas.
Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, in the Rose Chapel, Burial will be at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery.
