Howard Nelson Fulbright was born on March 30, 1940, to Howard Burkley Fulbright and Molly Lavon Edwards in Liberty, Texas. He was 82 years, 1 month, and 19 days old. Howard married Nancy Lee Treadwell on November 4, 1967, and to this union, three children were born, Victoria Lynn, Sheila Kay, and Howard Reggie Fulbright. Nancy preceded him in death on October 20, 2002. Howard married Carolyn Bland Howell on July 16, 2004.
He was preceded in death by both his parents; his wife, Nancy; and his brother, Michael Perkins.
He served 20 years in the US Navy serving, in Vietnam and the South Pacific Theater as a Torpedoman First Class. During his time in the service, he served on the USS Wedderburn, DD-684, the USS Rupertus DD-851, the DE Evans 1023, the USS Howard W. Gilmore, AS-16, and the USS Orion AS-18. Howard was honorably discharged from service in 1978 as Petty Officer First Class. He was very proud of his military service and had many sea stories to tell.
After discharge from military service, Howard and his family came to Willow Springs, Missouri, to farm and raise his three children. He loved his family, fishing, and telling his sea stories that usually ended in laughter.
Howard was a Scout Master for about four years for Boy Scout Troop #64, Osage District, Ozark Council, Willow Springs, Missouri. During his time as Scout Master, about twelve Eagle Scouts earned their badges.
Howard had been confined to NHC Nursing Center in West Plains, Missouri, for three years and two months. The family would like to thank the nursing home staff for their kindness and help during this difficult time.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022, at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri, with Minister Tommie Boles officiating. Vitiation will be from 6-8:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 26, 2022, also at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, Pomona, Missouri.

Funeral services for Nancy Lee Fulbright, 66, Willow Springs, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, in the Rose Chapel of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home of West Plains, with the Rev. Richard Wright officiating.
Mrs. Fulbright died at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, at her home.
She was born Feb 16, 1936, at Coshocton, Ohio, daughter of Neal Orval and Ophal Victoria Neldon Treadwell.
She received her associate of arts degree in business from UCLA. She wed Howard Nelson Fulbright on Nov. 4, 1967, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Before her retirement she had been employed at McDonald-Douglas, Rawlings, Conway-Winters and Sequel.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Plains.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Fulbright, of the family home; three children, Victoria Lynn Fulbright, of the family home, Sheila Decker and husband, Thomas, and daughter, Andrea, and Howard Reggie Fulbright and wife, Heather, and children, Logan and Nora, all of Mtn. View; one brother Neal Treadwell Jr. and wife, Sheila, Las Vegas, Nev.; one sister, Mary Lou Hanson, West Plains; and several neices and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Visiting hours will be 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Riverways Hospice or the American Cancer Society and left at the funeral home.
