James C. Whatley Sr., 87, died Monday, March 28, 1994, at the Pemiscot Memorial Skilled Nursing Facility in Hayti.
Son of the late Joseph Charley Whatley and Annie Laura Hagler Whatley, he was born November 10, 1906 at Tuscaloosa, Ala.
A faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Steele, Mo. until ill health overtook him, he was a retired farmer.
Mr. Whatley leaves a son, James C. Whatley Jr. of Shalimar, Fla.; Two sisters: Mrs. Beatrice Bell of Tuscaloosa and Mrs. Annie Lee Hagler of Florida; Four grandchildren:....; and Four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Whatley were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 1, 1994, at the First Baptist Church in Steele with Rev. Michael Funderburk officiating.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
